LYFE
Our bachelorette gathering took place in San Luis Obispo to celebrate my friend Megan.
BTW, I’d like you to know that for years my family and I referred to it as San Looey Obispo. FTR, this is incorrect, and it is pronounced San Lewis Obispo.
I had been very excited as this itinerary was a dream/a combination of my favorite activities: wine tasting at vineyards, long dinners, oh and a private chef with a four course meal during a pajama party. What could be better!
Yet, despite the curated to perfection itinerary, I still had some anxiety & reservations about seeing all of my friends.
Because I am in a transitionary time, from estate manager/professional griever/ to now trying to see what the future has in store for me. #universe #manifest
“Where do you work?” Or “What do you do?” These questions always give me pause. It was so easy before. “I work at X company doing HR.”
Anyways, let’s start from the beginning.
I went to Doen and spent way too much on a dress, but honestly, I don’t regret it.
These pieces have stayed in my closet for years and have followed me on vacations, showers, bachelorettes, sunny afternoons.

Like everyone, the day before you go on a trip is chaos. We’re underfed, overbooked, and hustling from appointment to appointment. All while in the rain.
I had picked up a sticky bra at Nordstrom on Thursday (to wear with my new gingham Doen dress) and when I went to try it on at home, I saw that the bra had been…. USED. Oil/make up stains lined the perimeter, and I just could not.
Dry heaving, and spiraling, I tried to order a new one on Amazon as I rushed to my haircut, but unfortunately they only had an A cup available for overnight delivery. RATS!
Back to Nordstrom I go!
Alas, after my numerous appointments on Thursday, I returned on Friday and sprinted to Nordstrom while ordering Erewhon on my phone to ensure that we had “healthy” meal for our drive up.
I by accident ordered double of everything, which if you’ve gone to Erewhon, you know this is a big mi$take.
We departed and about an hour into the drive, I realized I had forgotten my bathing suit. The hot tub was also an activity and I didn’t want to be left out! Double rats!
We went to three different outlets in Camarillo: J. Crew, Tory Burch, and Banana Republic, and no one had a bathing suit. I almost considered going to Pac Sun, but opted for Starbucks instead.

We arrived to the house, and it was what Nancy Meyers’ bach dreams are made of.
We had a magical dinner on an ivy filled terrace, and somehow found a bar that had the playlist from our days in the desert (Bear Down).
Speaking of desert days, we also slept on a sleeping porch style room, which was nostalgic for us. If you don’t know what a sleeping porch is, here’s the definition.

What is funny about great friendships is even though you have not seen each other in years, you pick up exactly where you left off. Even though so much time and life events have passed, to quote Ke$ha, “We r who we r” and we are friends 4 lyfe.

I often get sad thinking about how that when I have a child one day, my parents won’t physically be there. I think my mom’s presence will definitely be there, but I become quite melancholic, when I think about that piece of the future.
What is beautiful though about my friends, and was solidified this weekend, is I know they will help, guide, and be the best resources for when that day comes.
And for that, I feel so lucky and #blessed to have such a great group of friends.

Ok here are some other items
Products
My gals from the bach told me there is only one type of cleaning product I should be using in my home and it is NOT Mrs. Meyers. Branch Basics starter pack is coming to my house this week. RIP Mrs. M.
Food
I wish I could share some great meals that I’ve consumed, but unfortunately I have been eating vegetables and lettuce on my Sakara cleanse.
I do this for a few weeks in March/April and it always helps me get back on track and feeling my best. It is everything annoying; dairy free, grain free, gluten free blah blah blah, but it always helps me reset.
Stuff to Watch
“With Love, Meghan” I’ve gone through most of it, and here are my thoughts:
I am obsessed with every piece of clothing she wears. I love her style; from her make up, to her simple yet timeless jewelry pieces, to her hairstyles. I cannot get enough and recently started following this Instagram account with links so I can transact. Meghan get yourself an LTK!
I did not enjoy that it was not shot at her house. I learned that it was not mid way though, and felt deceived. Like she’s cutting produce but it’s not from her garden? IDK, but if it were me, I probably wouldn’t want zillions of people going through my house every day either but still!
There are so many strong opinions of her, but honestly I am not one of those people. I felt some moments were staged, or rigid… Hoping she’ll be a little bit more relaxed for season two.
Overall, it was pretty and aspirational, but I felt like in terms of recipes, none really jumped out to me except maybe the pasta and the cake. It was health focused with a lot of crudite platters and salads. Hoping for more sweet treats in season two!
Perhaps because vegetables were all I was consuming on #sakara, I needed a little more carb focused meals for some excitement.

Lady Gaga and the NY Times: A calming listen. She talks about how she went in Psychosis a few years ago, and why we should stop with the notion that when artists are in dark places they, “produce their best work.”
